Terms of service

The terms we work under. Plain language on purpose. Last updated 2 September 2026.

Who these apply to

These terms apply to work VZ Consulting does for business clients. Where you have a signed service agreement with us, that agreement wins wherever the two differ.

Prices on this website

Rates shown here are starting rates and are current at the date above. Ad-hoc work is charged from R950 per hour, with a one-hour minimum and 15-minute blocks after that. Managed contracts start at R2 500 per month, scoped to the client’s environment and the services included. A written quote is what binds us, not this page.

VZ Consulting is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on our invoices.

Travel

On-site work in Pretoria and Centurion carries no callout fee and no kilometre charge. Work outside that area is agreed with you in writing before we travel.

Hardware

Hardware we procure for you is supplied at our cost. We charge for the work of specifying, sourcing, configuring and installing it. Hardware carries the manufacturer’s warranty and no other; we’ll help you claim under it, but we don’t underwrite it.

Contracts and notice

Managed contracts run month to month with one calendar month’s notice on either side. On termination we hand over your documentation, credentials and asset register. We don’t hold anything back as leverage.

Response and availability

Our published hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 18:00. Contract clients also have access to an emergency line outside those hours, on the terms set out in their service agreement. We aim to respond quickly and will tell you honestly what we can and can’t do; we do not guarantee a fix within a fixed time unless a signed agreement says so.

Payment

Ad-hoc work is payable on completion, unless we’ve agreed other terms with you in writing. Contract fees are invoiced monthly in advance. We reserve the right to suspend non-emergency work on materially overdue accounts, after telling you first.

Your responsibilities

We need reasonable access to your systems and premises, accurate information about what you’re running, and a decision-maker we can reach. Where we recommend something for the safety of your data and you decide against it, we’ll note that and carry on, but the consequences of that decision sit with you.

Data and confidentiality

We treat everything we see on your systems as confidential and we don’t discuss one client’s environment with another. Personal information is handled as set out in our privacy policy.

Liability

We do the work with reasonable skill and care. Our liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or loss of data, except where the law does not allow that limit. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
